Manchester came alive this weekend as Oasis made their long-awaited homecoming in front of over 70,000 fans at Heaton Park and none other than Pep Guardiola was there to celebrate.
A Special Dedication for Guardiola
The Manchester City manager didn’t just blend into the crowd. Liam Gallagher paused mid-show to dedicate D’You Know What I Mean to Pep Guardiola, calling him “the boss” and the “greatest manager of all time.”
This moment drew mixed reactions, especially from the city’s red side, but for the blue half it only added to the electric atmosphere.
Backstage With the Gallagher Family
Behind the scenes, Pep Guardiola was spotted with the Gallagher children, turning the gig into a real family affair. Liam’s sons Lennon and Gene posed alongside Noel’s kids Anais, Donovan, and Sonny.
Gene even shared the moment on Instagram, cheekily calling it the “pic of the century.”
Oasis Fever Takes Over Manchester
The Oasis comeback took over the city. Fans saw huge photos of the brothers on buses and heard Liam’s voice on the trams, directing everyone to Heaton Park in trademark style.
The show opened with Hello and rolled through classic hits like Morning Glory and Acquiesce. Fans had to wait for the encore to finally belt out Don’t Look Back In Anger and Wonderwall.
Smooth Event Despite Arrests
Greater Manchester Police called the event a success overall, although six arrests were made for minor offences and five drones were seized for breaching airspace rules.
Fans Flock From Around the World
Many travelled thousands of miles for this moment. One fan from Boston, US, spent over $15,000 just to be part of the Manchester gigs, describing it as the biggest thrill of her life.
With the Heaton Park shows wrapped up, Oasis now heads to London, Edinburgh, and Dublin for more sold-out nights this summer and the city will keep talking about the night Pep Guardiola joined the Gallagher brothers to make Manchester music history.
